Here Comes the Sun

So today's post is going to be super random because I'm feeling totally ADD right now. :)

Maybe that's because it's so WARM today! My local news stations says 74!!! I'm actually only wearing one pair of pants and a 3/4 sleeved shirt, lol.

I hope this continues!

I'm feeling so much better in regards to school. I have a relatively easy week because I pretty much finished my paper and I only have a couple of routine quizzes. Remember how I was freaking out about that one midterm that I had? Well, it turns out that no one did that well on it. But, apparently the professor curved the grade for the other section of the class, but NOT the section that I go to! That is completely unfair, so I think my class is going to call her out on that. If she ends up curving it, then I'll get an A!

Eating has been so-so lately. When I'm at home I can eat all day, but when I'm at school it's a bit harder. I guess it's just so easy to restrict there because no one really pays attention. And half the time other people aren't eating so I get that "I don't need to eat either" mentality. But of course I have to remind myself that I don't know what they eat the rest of the day and everyone has different needs anyway. So there, ED :p

However, I'm not ashamed to say that I had one of these today:

Gotta love leftover Valentine's Day candy!

And I've been noshing (such a weird word) on these this week:

Peanut Butter (Flour) Chocolate Chip Cookies! Well actually, they are M and M because we didn't have any chocolate chips. They are amazing - they're soft and taste like peanut butter, but they actually just have peanut flour. And I used a flax egg which I've recently discovered in the realms of blog world. It works wonderfully, but it does add little flecks of black stuff in the baked goods, so you have to convince your friends that they aren't ant legs. (Sorry, was that gross?) Here is the cookie recipe: http://www.itzyskitchen.com/2010/09/peanut-butter-flour-chocolate-chip.html (Oh and I used the real butter option;)

Well, I'm going to do a bit of studying and then enjoy this weather. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Love you all!

  1. 74 degrees?! Lucky ;) it was supposed to be in the low 50s here but it was much cooler than that and cloudy :(

I have the same problems eating at school. I don't really like the dining hall food so luckily my parents provide me with things I like and can make easily but sometimes I just don't feel like eating because no one else is. I tend to plan my meals at school more than I do at home which helps with scheduling but then I tend to restrict which isn't good.

I hope your midterm does get curved, otherwise it's totally unfair! And I really want to try peanut flour very soon--hopefully over spring break!

  2. 74?! I hate you already... (Not really, seriously--just joking here). :)

It is still friggen cold up here in WI--in 30's. AND IT IS STILL SNOWING.

I was the same way in college; I did not like to eat in the public area (cafe). I struggled with that for whole 4 years. So I understand.

Keep us posted about your midterm grade! Hope everything turns out for the best....

  3. I was in recovery when I went back to university, and although I felt safe and supported at home, it was so hard at uni.
I think it is about taking steps that make it easier and as you go along, hopefully that will ease.

  4. Just want to tell you that you are SO CUTE!!! Love the picture of you.

And I also have a harder time eating places other then home, there always seems to be a "good reason" to restrict. I also compare myself to other people and figure if they don't eat I don't need to either. But I just have to keep reminding myself of what you said :"I have to remind myself that I don't know what they eat the rest of the day and everyone has different needs anyway."

    Take care!

  5. Those cookies look incredible! I might have to make some myself!

And 74? It's still between 20 and 30 degees here. I'm officially jealous!

I too find it harder to eat right away from home. I tend to have less disordered thinking, but lots more excuses to skip meals, if that makes any sense!

    Take care!

  6. My weather is awesome too :)
And I know it's easy to justify restriction by saying that no one else is eating, but they are. We just don't see it. Plus, you've gotta do YOUR body right, just like you said :) I'm proud of you for talking back to ED and realizing those behaviors are no bueno!
    You're doing greaaat!

  7. Ant legs! Haha, you make me laugh. :) And I know what you mean about finding it hard to eat at school. I eat fine at home because it feels safe and I can look at my meal plan if I feel like I'm getting off track, but the two days a week where I have to go away to school in another city scare me.

    Hope you're doing okay. :)
