Let's Get This Thing Started, It's My Kinda Party

So yesterday, a coworker was talking about how she'd been out until 3 am the night before, barhopping.  She asked if I ever go out.  I said "not really" (read: never).  She asked why not and I just said I never have the time.  Well, that's certainly true, but the real reason is hard for most people my age to understand. I don't like it!  Of course I have issues, (ed, fear of driving) that make it hard for me to be as social as I perhaps would like, but quite honestly, partying just doesn't appeal to me.  Drinking? I literally had 3 sips of a pina colada on my birthday and I haven't had a drink since.  Rowdy people checking each other out and being loud? Er, no thanks.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for having a good time and if that's what helps you unwind then go for it.  But, I just kinda wish my peers wouldn't look at me like I have two heads when I tell them I don't go out like that.

This is definitely more my party speed:

Ok, sorry for that rant.
In other news, I've felt like I live on the tundra lately (what 60 degrees with 10 mpr winds isn't that bad? I guess I'm just spoiled hehe)
So, my two new best friends:
I love passion fruit and this chap stick actually does it justice.  And I am currently obsessed with this TJ's tea.  It's peppermint, but it also has vanilla notes that keep it from getting bitter, even if you forget to take the tea bag out after steeping (like I do).
Present Palatable Provisions: Pomegranates, pumpkin, (sweet) potatoes, and profiteroles.  Yum!

  1. Hey, there's nothing wrong with being a good girl(; I don't drink or do drugs either but I'm not against having a good time. Stand up for what you believe in, not doing drugs and drinking usually make you more succesful in life because you're not addicted to some sort of substance or drink. But I like burt's bees too, they have the best shampoo!

  2. I am the same way. I used not to want to go out and party. I was so terrified of drinking because that meant more calories going into my body. Then I went into college; I got disillusioned and wanted to fit in so badly so I started partying and drinking. It was not the way to go.

Then I reached to a place in my life where I relaized that kind of partying did not really represent who I was all about. I realized that I liked more low-key events more than anything else.

Many people my age enjoys going out clubbing and partying.

    Not me.

I prefer to stay home, curl up with a great paranormal romance book and snuggle in a blanket with my 2 cats. Maybe I'll drink a glass of wine. That's my thing. I'm cool with that. If one or two friends want to join then great.

    Nothing wrong with that! ;)

  3. I don't think I could agree with Ashley any more - I've done both, and far prefer the subdued lifestyle! :P
Okay, and I had to laugh at the not really (re: never) part. I think every time I've said not really...I might as well have said never :P

  4. I agree with Danielle about being addicted to a drink or drugs..Enough of my close friends and others I've watched have abused them so I stay clear! Except for Vodka...I like to keep some of that around...to make pie crust! It works phenomenally and keeps the crust flaky!=D

I am "addicted" to dancing though! I love to dance!! <3

Burt's Bee's! They have the best lotion and face scrub.

  5. Ah I know what you mean about the drinking thing... I'm quite capable of being incredibly silly without the help of alcohol! Once though my best friend and I tried to get drunk on disgusting liqueur chocolates (impossible in case you think of trying). All we got was a tummy ache.

    Love.

  6. Oh and I like your picture of a party... pastel colours and cupcakes and drinking tea out of antique cups would be more my speed. :)
